Now that you’ve learned the basics of what myFlex is, who buys it and how to sell it, let’s dive in deeper. Here are some tips to help you find solid myFlex client leads:
Build relationships by showcasing your expertise and innovative solutions
- Approach your local Chamber of Commerce/Board of Trade/Small Business association to host a “Lunch ‘n Learn” about the advantages of offering a group benefits plan – use Equitable Life’s ‘Your Guide to Benefits for Small Business’ as a basis for your presentation; follow-up with the ‘Benefits for Small Business Toolkit’ to qualify any leads
- Think about where entrepreneurs go to ask for help – align yourself with these organizations as a trusted source for group benefits advice and support
- Find places where you can establish a relationship with a client first (build your personal brand), and talk business second
- Networking events
- Charities
- LinkedIn Content
- Social Events
Leverage existing relationships
- Work with your individual/investments/accountants/commercial insurance counterparts to identify business owner clients that may be a good fit for myFlex
- Ask your existing clients for a referral to other business owners they know
- Consider a webinar for your existing clients with traditional benefits plans that may be a good fit and introduce the myFlex approach – your myFlex Sales Manager can host the webinar - this has proven to be a successful strategy in helping clients to make the switch to flex
Build your brand and online/social media presence
- Provide a link to resources like Equitable Life’s myFlex video on your website to showcase this innovative way of offering group benefits
- Provide other online content focused on the needs of small business to establish yourself as a go-to resource for entrepreneurs – start with some of Equitable Life’s online tools and resources
- Use our blog posts to connect with potential leads and start the conversation
- Consider radio ads to get your name out there and to profile how you differentiate yourself from other traditional brokers with innovative solutions like myFlex
